The teachers were excited and enthusiastic at the second TAG meeting, which was held on March 26th, 2024.
The meeting was opened with the ice breaker “Do you love your neighbour?” Teachers got relaxed and fet free to start collaborative process.
After breaking the ice, teachers were sharing their action points progress. Most of the teachers delivered a warmer “What’s your favourite?” and got great results. Their students were engaged in the communicative process, they mingled expressing their opinions on different topics. The teachers whose students were weaker gave some templates/questions for speaking and also had satisfying results.
The topic of the TAG meeting #2 was “Adapting Coursebook Materials”. Teachers were facilitated to continue with a discussion where they were to ****identify the ways how a teacher adapted coursebook materials to meet learner needs in the video. Then they looked through the handouut and disscussed possible ways of adapting the material. Aslo they studied the chart by David Petrie “Coursebook Assessment and Adaptation Process”.

Having a lot of bright ides teachers were **** identifying triggering topics and suggesting ways to adapt coursebook content.
Among the most trigerring topics were:
The coursebook can’t cater for all the students in my class. They all have different preferences and needs.
The topics in the book may not interest my class.
Sometimes the topics are out of date.
Language is always presented in the same way and the approach in the book can be too predictable and formulaic.
The coursebook restricts my creativity as a teacher.
The material in the book isn’t always at the right level for my students.
The exercises are boring.
